Equal pay for Equal Work

Equal pay for Equal Work

I recalled the one of my friend experience who is employed with MGNREGA in one of Indian State. Since last 10 year he has been working on gross salary of twenty five thousands . And expecting that one day salary would be hike as per norms. I recalled this because ,today news paper carried story about Delhi Chief minister accomodated demand from to increase salary of all contractual workers employed with Delhi State Health Mission (DSHM) related projects. In delhi there are alone 3000 contractual workers employed under this Scheme, work in hospitals as paramedical staff  or in the administrative posts

Central or State powered scheme employed thousand of youth in hope getting permanent or equal pay to compare their colleague. There are thousand scheme being implemented by state with sharing mode of bearing expenditure to meet administrative  and human resources cost.

During month of October 2016, the Supreme Court ruled on that temporary workers are entitled to wages at par with permanent employees that brings relief to lakhs of contractual employees working in government departments and agencies.

MNREGA functionaries and Anganwadi Sevikas, agitators raised similar demands of job security and payment of arrears, among others from each state of India.

Supreme Court also laid down the legal position regarding “equal wages for equal work” as available in various judgements of the Apex Court, applicable to casual, contract and daily-rated workers.

It is concluded that State sponsored scheme is not following norms and constitutional rights upheld by Supreme Court.

What Does True Government Transformation Look Like?

What Does True Government Transformation Look Like? Transformation is about an organization or program moving from one state of being to another. It implies a significant and disruptive change that is necessary when an organization shifts its mission, realigns resources, or changes the way work is done. We don’t all quite know yet what is in all the agency transformation plans mandated by OMB Memorandum 17-22. There may be some bold ideas and some also-ran ideas that perhaps have great optics, but may show little true results. So far, I have heard hints of transitioning some programs to other agencies, reducing some identified duplication, shared service implementations, and a few program reductions. Some agencies have begun offering early-outs, others allowing attrition to address workforce reductions, and still other agencies indicating there will be no workforce changes. ........It's school time again! .....

I t's school time again! And I have 'not got much time to evaluate pre-primary school for my daughter's admission due to work pressure and Delhi winter vacation. It is firm opinion that early childhood learning through play school or formal early elementary school provide a foundation for learning both academically and socially that will help the child to groom and succeed in their elementary school. These early elementary school promotes language, cognitive skills, social and emotional development. We always dream of getting our children placed in good schools but it is a daunting task. It has been very painful process filling out applications and spends days to visit school. Majority parents of post emergency came from government and government aided school and know the situation government -run schools across India are in bad shape. There are shortage of classrooms, insufficient teachers and low learning levels are some of the problems they have faced over t...
